Exemptions
Spanish-speaking countries
If you are a national of a Spanish-speaking country (such as Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, etc.), you are exempt from the DELE language exam, but you usually still have to take the CCSE.
Secondary Education (ESO)
Those who have obtained a Secondary Education (ESO) or Baccalaureate (Bachillerato) degree in Spain are also exempt from both exams.
If your final goal is to obtain a Spanish passport, there are two mandatory requirements from the Instituto Cervantes:

How to Get Certified?
DELE
Traditional paper-based exam. Its biggest advantage is that it never expires—it is valid for life.
SIELE
A 100% digital and faster exam. You receive results in a few weeks, but it is valid for 5 years.
Legal Procedures How to Enter and Stay in Spain
If you currently reside in Italy (or other non-EU countries), you must follow the
regulations of the Spanish Consulate General:
Up to 90 Days
If you have a valid Italian Permesso di Soggiorno, you can enter as a tourist with just your passport and travel documents.
Over 90 Days
You must process a Long-Term Visa at the Consulate before traveling to Spain.
